Gastronomic Ceramics
Born from the initiative of Rudy Surco, a chef turned ceramist, the studio now brings together a dedicated team united by a shared ambition: to create unique pieces that highlight the chef’s gesture and the ingredients worked in the kitchen.
After years spent working in fine dining restaurants, Rudy’s sensitivity to aesthetics, the beauty of ingredients, and the presentation on the plate naturally led him to the art of ceramics. He trained at the Institut Européen des Arts Céramiques in Guebwiller.
Thanks to his previous experience behind the stove, Rudy came to understand that the vessel is just as important as what it holds. More than a ceramist, he sees himself as a chef who creates plates.
Today, Plato Surco’s creations are used in some of the world’s finest gastronomic restaurants.
Each piece is handcrafted with constant attention to balance, texture, and emotion.

Our Studio
In the studio, everyone brings their own vision—ceramists, a chef, a designer, a chemist—each in their own way, an artist.
Our paths are different, but they complement each other, enriching every creation.
What brings us together?
A shared desire to experiment, to push the limits of the material, to imagine the pieces that will come to life on your tables.
Quite simply: walking this path together.
Every day is a new challenge, a new exploration.
This diversity is what makes our work so exciting.
To work with ceramics is to create, to learn, to pass on—always with the same dedication and the same passion.
All our pieces are handcrafted.
To ensure their strength and suitability for the demands of fine dining, we fire them at high temperatures—between 1280 and 1300°C.
The textures and shapes of our plates are designed to harmonize with the restaurant table.
(Consciously or not), we embrace the marks left by our hands—imperfections that create a living movement, echoing the chef’s plating.
